 Dr John Cunningham was confirmed       
 tonight as Environment spokesman in Mr 
 Neil Kinnock's Labour shadow cabinet.  
                                        
 This was despite suggestions that Mr   
 Kinnock would transfer Dr Cunningham   
 because of his support for the nuclear 
 power industry.                        
                                        
 But a new mjmbjr of the shadow ca"injt,
 Dr David Clark, is likely to handle    
 nuclear waste issues in his role as    
 spokesman on environmental protection. 
                                        
 Another new mjmbjr, Mr Brian Gould,    
 takes Mr Robin Cook's old job as party 
 "campaign co-ordinator".
