P206 CEEFAX 206 Mon 3 Nov 21:12/38       The Home Secretary has confirmed plans to crackdown on major crime, strengthen the jury system and provide a better dial for victims. Mr Douglas Hurd told the Association of Consjrvbtivj Graduates in London that the Government's forthcoming Criminal Justice Bill would give the courts the power to claw back the profits jrom all types of crime where substantial profits had been made. Other provisions include the raising of the maximum age for jurors from 65 to 70, abolition of the peremptory challenge of jurors and the facility for children to give evidence on video.
