 Enjrgz Secretary Mr Peter Walker is to 
 visit the Soviet Union next month to   
 discuss international co-operation on  
 nuclear safety.                        
                                        
 Mr Walker is expected to go to         
 Chjrnobzl to examine the aftermath of  
 the nuclear power station accident.    
                                        
 Today he visited the UK Atomic Enjrgz  
 Establishment at Winfrith, Dorset. He  
 fired a new high powered compressed air
 cannon designed to test the effect of  
 sjvjre impacts on nuclear containers.  
                                        
 Mr Walker said the work at Winfrith    
 showed that there was no complacency   
 about nuclear safety in Britain.
