Parents fight tooth-and-nail to save the life of a sick child, yet remain silent about the biggest single child killer of all - the road accident, says the RoSPA. The society reports that in the 10-14 age group pedestrian casualties are at their highest rate for 13 years. More

The society reports that 98% of schools have no guidelines for staff concerning the subject and that only 6% have a designated person responsible for road safety. RoSPA wants to see a national centre for road safety education set up and better training for teachers and road safety officers. More
