P208 CEEFA( 208 Mon 17 Nov 21:35/39       Mr Norman Tjbbit has djnjed that his complaints about BBC coverage of the Libyan bombings were designed to intimidate the Corporation. The Consjrvativj Party chairman dismissed a suggestion bz Labour's Mr David Winnick that the attack was an attempt to "soften up" the BBC in the run-up to the next general election. He said that all hj had done was ask the BBC to maintain the standards expected of it. Mr Tjbbit was answering questions in the Commons in his role as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
