P723 CEEFAX 723 Thu 7 Oct 21:19/14        NATIONAL ALCOHOL HELPLINE FOR US A National Alcohol Helpline launches on 25 October following its successful pilot in London. During the trial period telephone operators were inundated with callers wanting information and advice about drinking. That's the message of the Council for the Protection of Rural England which has condemned the sacrifice of increasing areas of countryside in favour of new reservoirs. The National Council for Voluntary Organisations has published a book- let LEGAL SERVICES FOR VOLUNTARY ORGANISATJONS aimed at groups affected by the demand for greater finbncial accountability. So says Third Would pressure group the World Development Movement (WDM), whose report BITING THE BULLET argues that the cuts should begin in this November's budget.
