        TODAY'S EVENTS

  RELIGIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL INITJATJVE  
  American Jewish and Christian       
  leaders dedicated to "environmental 
  justice" this week have announced a 
  three year environmental campaign.  
                                      
  Prominent Jewish, Roman Catholic    
  and Protestant leaders from the     
  National Religious Partnership for  
  the Environment, joined vice-       
  president Gore at the White House   
  for the announcement on Monday.     
  
  The $3.5 million donated to the     
  campaign by private foundations     
  will buy environmental kits for     
  American religious congregations.   
 
