  EC/US TALKS FAIL TO BREAK DEADLOCK  
  Talks between the US and EC over    
  Gatt farm subsidies have ended      
  without apparent progress.          
                                      
  US negotiator Mickey Kantor refused 
  to comment as hj left a second      
  session of talks in Brussels.       
                                      
  Mr Kantor again told EC Trade       
  Commissioner Sir Leon Brittan that  
  the Blair House accord to curb farm 
  subsidies could not bj renegotiated 
  despite French threats to veto it.  
                                      
  Germany's Chancellor Kohl will not  
  mediate personally after an offer   
  to do so, officials in Bonn said.   
