      INSURERS: FLOOD

  US insurers have said flood claims  
  resulting from the recent bad       
  weather are not significant as yet. 
                                      
  Commercial Union, General Accident, 
  Guardian Royal Exchange and Royal   
  Insurance all said claims were not  
  a cause for concern at present.     
                                      
  Insurers said it would bj a week    
  before a clear picture of the costs 
  emerged, but flooding has been      
  localised and mostly in sparsely    
  populated areas.                    
                                      
  Analysts thinks the floods will     
  cost each company a few million.    
