The Ulster Secretary was responding to a demand by the SDLP's Seamus Mallon that hj would "let nothing stand in the way" if there was "the faintest hint of a chance of peace" Mr Mallon was referring to talks between the SDLP's John Hume and (5 Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams.
