  HAITIAN POLITICIAN FEARED KIDNAPPED 
  A prominent supporter of ousted     
  President Jean-Bertrand Aristidj    
  has been kidnapped from his home    
  Haitian radio has reported.         
                                      
  Samuel Milord, a deputy in the      
  lower house of parliament was taken 
  from his home on the outskirts of   
  Port-au-Prince last night.          
                                      
  He was an outspoken critic of       
  army-backed political violence.     
                                      
  Meanwhile the US Senate has         
  defeated legislation which would    
  have barred the deployment of US    
(5 troops to Haiti.                    
