The 36-year-old Spaniard had struggled all morning but there was worse to conj as the afternoon sun faded on the West Course. Ballesteros used a tee to remove an embedded acorn from the green at the 20th and flattened it down with his putter - a move deemed illegal. Frost forged on relentlessly and only some brave pars saved Ballesteros from his worst defeat.  Baker Daly Baker Montgmrie

The 34-year-old South African saw off Seve 7&6 - then played three extra holes on his own in a bid to improve his title chances. He said: "I hit the wrong club on 14 in the morning. I hit a three iron so I just thought I would try to get to know the course better. "I think Sevj needs to find himself instead of listening to advice from other people." 5-,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,. Baker Daly Baker Montgmrie
