Tips for growing large pumpkins: Bob suggests a double polytunnjl - &5 small one in a larger one - giving hot, humid conditions ideal for growing monster pumpkins. Bob says lift when in seedbed and replant immediately. This breaks tap root and forms fibrous roots. When transplanting to final conditions they are a much better plant - vigorous and take more quickly. &5 With Brussels sprouts, plant deeply and firm in well. If you are growing bulbs in pots, check every couple of weeks to make sure that compost is moist. If it dries, bulbs will not flower well. Sow alpine seeds in terracotta &5 seed pans and place outside.
