  CHURCH WENS HIGH COURT BATTLE       
  The Church of England has won a     
  High Court victory clearing the way 
  for the ordination of women priests 
                                      
  Two judges rejected a bid by the    
  Church Society to block proposed    
  legislation which, if approved bz   
  Parliament later this week, would   
  lead to historic change.            
                                      
  They dismissed a claim by the       
  society that the General Synod had  
  exceeded its powers.                
