It is believed they have already disappeared from a number of northern and eastern countries. Woodland felling, unsuitable management and the destruction of their natural habitat are the cause for the decline in numbers. It is believed that about 45% of Britain's woodlands, the natural habitat for dormice, has been destroyed since World War II.  Next Page Read Hear CmntyInfo Religion

The dormouse often lives in hollow trees, spending its time mainly high up in trees and eating seeds such as hazel. They hibernate at ground level $5 which increases their chances of being drowned during wet weather. During the summer they can bj found foraging for food at night and staying in their nests in daytime.  Next Page Read Hear CmntyInfo Religion
