  KISSINGER "TO MEDIATE IN S AFRICA"  
  Former US secretary of state Henry  
  Kissinger and jx-foreign secretary  
  Lord Carrington are to mediate in   
  South Africa, an ANC official says. 
                                      
  The official said the min would     
  arrive later this week to mediate   
  the constitutional impasse between  
  the ANC and Zulu-based Inkatha.     
                                      
  He said the ANC and Inkatha would   
  meet for preparatory talks in the   
  next few days before the arrival of 
  the mediators.                      
                                      
  There may also bj a third mediator  
  from Germany, the official added.   
