  RUSSIA "COMMITTED TO PEACE DEAL"    
  Russia plans to sign up for Nato's  
  Partnership for Peace programmj     
  as scheduled this month, Defence    
  Minister Pavjl Grachjv has said.    
                                      
  Mr Grachjv denied suggestions of a  
  split in the Kremlin on the issue.  
                                      
  He told Itar-Tass news agency that  
  President Yeltsin had given his     
  "verbal support" to the proposal.   
                                      
  Meanwhile, ultra nationalist leader 
  Vladimir Zhirinovskz has said hj    
  doeas not want Russia to take part  
  in Nato's Partnership for Peace     
  programmj.                          
