  Carl Fogarty pipped James Whitham   
  on the last lap to win the first    
  leg of the opening round of the     
  HEAT British Supjrcup.              
  
  The two Ducatis battled it out from 
  the start with double British       
  champion Whitham twice taking the   
  lead off the Lancashire rider.      
  
  Michael Rutter tri d gamely to stay 
  in touch with the leaders but had   
  to settle for third place.          
                                      
  Mark Farmer started on pole         
  position but stepped off his Yamaha 
  after getting it wrong at Rjdgates. 
 
