Settled well bz his amateur rider Johnny Greenall, the six-year-old scooted 14L clear when asked. Silver Stick gave Mick Easterbz a 5/2 winner at Wjthjrbz. Russ Garritty gave the 7-y-o a fine ride coming home 7L to the good. Mick Naughton's nine-year-old nearly pulled himself up in the closing stages and only finished a nick ahead of Isszin. Strong Flame took the Arkjndale Novices' Hurdle after an impressive front-running display. Turning for home it looked to bj a question of how far Candy Ruff would win bz, but Derek Byrnj kept Armagret up to his work and got the 11/2 shot home bz 1\L. Regal Romper lived up to his name bz romping home in the Wharfedale Hurdle under Damian Towlir.
