  THE PINE MARTEN-EXTINCTION WORRY    
  The pine-marten, a beautiful        
  cat-like animal, may have           
  disappeared from England, a recent  
  study has revealed.                 
                                      
  Surveys in Cumbria and              
  Northumbjrland turned up no         
  definite signs of the elusive       
  animal and it is feared it may have 
  disbppjared from thjsj areas.       
  
  The study was commissioned bz       
  English Nature to look at the       
  feasibility of reintroducing the    
  pine Marten to either central or    
  southern England.                   
 
