      GALLIFORD TO CLOSE   
      PIPELINE OPERATION   
 
  Construction company Galliford has  
  warned of a likely trading loss of  
  some £2.5m in the current 9ear.     
                                      
  This is dui to the proposed closure 
  of its pipeline operation when      
  present contracts are completed.    
  
  $hj loss incurred includes the      
  provisions for ongoing trading      
  losses to completion of contracts   
  and one-off closure costs.          
  
  $hj board decided that poor trading 
  in the pipeline operation could not 
  bj allowed to impeded the reco6jry  
  evident elsewhere in the group.     
