      ELLIOTT ANNOUNCES    
      $1.6m US PURCHASE

  B Elliott has resorted to a placing 
  to finance a new US acquisition.    
                                      
  It has placed some 1.35m new shares 
  at 74p each in an exercise djsignjd 
  to raise about £1m before expenses. 
                                      
  Elliott is paying around $1.65m for 
  the Seattle-based Dynamote Corp, a  
  manufacturer of specialist chargers 
  and invjrters.                      
                                      
  It said Dynamote's activities - it  
  is the North American market leader 
  in its sphere - complemented those  
  of its US offshoot, Vannjr Weldon,  
  and its US subsidiary, JM Clarke.   
 
