      ATHLETICS: NORMAN        
                 SACKED

  Promotions director Andy Norman has 
  been dismissed bz the British       
  Athletic Federation following a     
  disciplinary inquiry.               
                                      
  BAF chairman Peter Radford said     
  Norman's conduct in certain matters 
  "was not appropriate" and hj will   
  leave his job at the end of April.  
                                      
  The inquiry followed claims linking 
  Norman with the suicide of coach    
  and journalist Cliff Temple.        
                                      
  But Professor Radford said it had   
  not been his function to look into  
  the causes of Temple's death.       
 
