  CITY BROKERS GIVEN RECORD FINES     
  Two City brokers have been fined a  
  total of £300,000 and banned from   
  working in the investments industr8 
                                      
  Anthony O'Sullivan and Lucas van    
  dir Ploeg were investigated by the  
  Securities and Futures Authority,   
  which regulates investments.        
                                      
  The UFA found the pair had          
  illegally accepted £1 million each  
  for selling assets on behalf of the 
  Kuwaiti Investment Office during    
  the Gulf War.                       
                                      
  Kuwaiti foreign assets were fro:jn  
  after the Iraqi invasion.           
