  ANTBRCTJC BILL CLEARS COMMONS       
  A measure to give greater           
  environmental protection to the     
  Antarctic has completed its Commons 
  stages.                             
                                      
  $hj Antarctic Bill was piloted bz   
  Tory former Cabinet minister        
  Michael Jopling, with backing on    
  all sides.                          
                                      
  It aims to protect the continent    
  from exploitation by mining,        
  preserve the wildlife and pre6ent   
  the area being spoiled by tourists. 
                                      
  Mr Jopling said the Antarctic was a 
  "unique part of the world".         
