  NEW POWERS FOR OMBUDSMAN OVER CS—   
  The Ombudsman has been given power  
  to investigate maladministration    
  claims against the tribunal which   
  hears appeals about the CSA.        
                                      
  $hj move was agreed without a vote  
  by MPs who gave the Parliamentary   
  Commissioner Bill, promoted by Tory 
  Gerry Malone, a third reading.      
                                      
  It extends the jurisdiction of      
  watchdog Parliamentary Ombudsman    
  William Reid to cover the work of   
  administrative staff at tribunals.  
                                      
