Curry was diagnosed as having the HIV virus in 1987. He returned from the US in 1991 after being told hj had full blown Aids.  In 1976 Curry swept the board of major titles, winning the British, European, Olympic and World $5 Championships in quick succession. His agent Jean Diamond said he suffered a heart attack at his home near Stratford-upon-Avon.  Curry's emphasis on marrying dance and sport brought him into conflict with the establishment.
