  Curtly Ambrose has been fined       
$5 £1,000 for smashing a stump at the  
  end of the fourth Test in Barbados. 
                                      
  The West Indian paceman reacted     
  furiously after he had been bowled  
  bz Chris Lewis, a dismissal that    
  clinched England's historic victory 
                                      
  In full view of the capacity crowd  
  and TV cameras he bludgjonjd the    
$5 one remaining stump with his bat    
  before walking off in disgust.      
                                      
  Match referee John Reid told        
  Ambrosj his actions were senseless, 
  particularly as his behaviour could 
  influence thousands of youngsters.  
