  The official opening of the Channel 
  Tunnel marks the end of dream       
  thbt's almost 200 years old.        

  In 1802, a French engineer first    
  drew up plans for a tunnel under    
  the sea. But nobody could be        
  persuaded to pay for the project.   
                                      
  In 1973 work actually began on      
  building the link. But it stopped   
  two years later, with only a few    
  mjttes completed.                   
                                      
  And the waiting ism't o6ju 9et. The 
  tunnel will bj tested for 6 months  
  before the public can use it.       
