  FIREFIGHTERS TBCKLE FOREST FIRE     
  Thirty firefighters are tackling a  
  forest fire in south-west Scotland. 
                                      

  Newton Stewart in Dumfries in       
  Galloway appears to bj gjttink      
  worse with the fire front is now    
  extending over half a mile.         
                                      
  $jn appliances are on the site and  
  more are being mobilisjd.           
                                      
  The fire service says good weather  
  coupled with a drying wind have     
  made it easier for firer to take    
  root.                               
