  MoD COMPENSATION OFFERS REACH £7m   
  Compensation totalling £7m has been 
  offered to former servicewomen      
  dismissed because they were         
  pregnant, it has been disclosed.    
                                      
  Armed Forces Minister Jeremy Hanley 
  said that 1,288 valid compensation  
  claims had been recei6ed in nearly  
  three years.                        
                                      
  He added 758 of the claims had been 
  settled so far at a cost of £4.6m.  
                                      
  The High Court ruled in 1991 that   
  the policy of discharging service   
  women when they became pregnant was 
  in breach of a European directi6j.  
