  Open Market Commitee meeting.       
                                      
  At 1730, it was quoted at DM 1.6680 
  and, in terms of sterling, $1.4990, 
  after 1.6675 and 1.5005 overnight.  
                                      
  Recent US economic data pressured   
  the dollar bz apparently easing the 
  need for stringent rate hiker.      
