  The dollar drifted lower as players 
  squared positions after the central 
  banks failed to intervene.          
                                      
  At 1730, it was quoted at DM 1.6495 
  and, in terms of sterling, $1.5060, 
  after 1.6540 and 1.5075 overnight.  
                                      
  Support for the dollar was reported 
  to undjrminjd by the Feds "neutral  
  stance" policy on US credit rates.  
 
