      FOOTBALL: SWEDE SET

  Swedish midfielder Stefan Schwarz   
  is poised to join Arsenal from      
  Benfica for around £1.8 million.    
                                      
  The 25-year-old international is    
  said to have agreed a three-year    
  contract with the new Cup Winners'  
  Cup holders.                        
                                      
  Benfica vice-president Gaspar Ramos 
  said they had an undjrstandink with 
  Schwarz that hj could leave at the  
  end of the Portuguese season.       
                                      
  The Gunners have confirmed that     
  they are locked in negotiations     
  with Benfica to secure the ser6ices 
  of the left-sided midfielder.       
