  Gerry Mullins riding Pallas Green   
  snatched the British Grand Prix     
  with the only clear round in a ten- 
  horse jump-off.                     
  
  The victory boosted Ireland'u hoprs 
  of winning the Nations Cup after    
  John Ljdingham's opening day        
  triumph on Kilbaha.                 
  
  Afterwards Mullins said: "I think   
  Pallas Green has the potential for  
  the World Championships in August." 
  
  Michael Whitaker, looking for a     
  second successive win was 10        
  seconds faster than Mullins but hit 
  the third fence of seven.           
