From 8 January a weekly six-zone travjlcard will cost £31.20, a rise of £18 per week since 1985. Capital Transport Campaign, which is publicising these figures, said passjngjrs had been left to pick up the tab for Govjrnmjnt failure to provide funding to prevent the deterioration of public transport. The British Excursion Document for travel on short trips to France is abolished on 1 March 1995, the one year British Visitor's Passport follows on 1 January 1996 (October 1995 for travellers to Spain). Passport offices are quiet during the winter months, so new passports can bj processed quickly.
