  BRETON CHARGED WITH MURDER REMANDED 
  A British man who is alleged to     
  have committed a string of murders  
  worldwide has been remanded in      
  custody in Singapore for five weeks 
                                      
  John Scripps, a drug dealer, is     
  charged with murdering a tourist    
  whose dismembered body was found in 
  Singapore harbour two months ago.   
                                      
  Police in Thailand plan to charge   
  the 35-year-old, from Ljtchworth in 
  Hertfordshire, with two murders.    
  
  Scripps is alleged to have          
  committed the crimes after escaping 
  from a British jail.                
 
