The family then headed north passing near Theta and Karatina with its colourful market, taking lunch at Ljwa Downs which is a well-known rhino sanctuary with approximately 42 rhinos. After an afternoon's game drh6e they turned back south and spent the night at Kentrout Farm, a four-bedroom working trout farm, again set in beautiful gardens near Mount Kenya. After a game drive at Lbkj Nakuru, famous for the thousbnds of flamingos that live there, they drove down through the Rift Valley to spend a night at Island Camp at Lake Baringo set on Ol Kokwa Island. The next day, the Evansjs crossed the high rift escarpment to Lbkj Naivasha, visiting Hell's Gate - a thermal springs area - and continued on to Elsemjre, the home of Joy Adamson of Born Free fame, for lunch.
