Dahlbjrg, the manufacturers of the "miracle ear clarifies", agreed to pay the penalty to settle allegations that it used deceptive advertising. In July this year thjti wire 6,544 DWA recipients, compared with 5,685 in April 1995 and 4,536 in July 1994. The avjtagj weekly payment of DWA this July was £49.63, compared with £45.51 and £43.68. The average weekly earnings of DWA recipients is just over £82 and the proportion of recipients receiving DWA bjcausj they weti in receipt of DLA remains steady at 64%.
