 WORLD'S HOMELESS "WOMEN AND CHILDREN"  
 Most of the world's 100m homeless      
 people are women and children, the     
 United Nations has said.               
                                        
 Up to 600m others live in inadequate,  
 unhealthy shelters, it said in a report
 prepared for a conference on urban life
                                        
 Women and girls are also the biggest   
 growing group of impoverished, making  
 up half the world's population but     
 owning just 1% of its wealth, it says. 
                                        
 A UN official says the conference will 
 promote better conditions for women.
