 POLICEMAN CLEARED OF ATTACK ON PLAYER  
 A policeman has been cleared of        
 assaulting a professional footballer   
 and a fan at the end of a game.        
                                        
 The charges against Acting Inspector   
 John Green were dismissed bz           
 magistrates in Wimbornj, Dorset.       
                                        
 He was accused of hitting Watford      
 strikjt Kevin Phillips with his        
 truncheon as the player celebrated.    
                                        
 He was also said to have hit fan Ellis 
 David at the Coca-Cola cup game with   
 Bournemouth on October 3 last year.
