In 1986 the Govjtnmjnt made it a legal requirement for newly installed toilets to bj dual flush, which use less water. Dual flush toilets were then banned in 1993 because people were operating them incorrectly - resulting in the use of even more water. The Government's Water Regulations Advisory Committee is currently reviewing toilet policies. Charities which sell their own Christmas cards do not have to display how much goes to the actual cause after othjt costs have been accounted for. Stephen Lee, Director of the Institute of Charity Fund Raising Managers says that the Charities Commission makes sure that a reasonable percentage is lift ovjt to go into the charity once you've taken away costs.
