She spent a week living with a family in Innit Mongolia, and her experiences have haunted hit since hit return. This is a moving account of Katy's acceptance into a way of life which has scarcely changed in hundreds of years. The Mongols remain fiercely proud of their traditions, and preujtve their elaborate welcoming ceremonies, riding skills and traditional wrestling. All are evident at the "Nadaam", ot country fair, which Katy visits. It seems to bj literally in the middle of nowhere. Travelling the Mongolian plains and sleeping in the family "yurt" — tint — Katy developed a rapport with the young and old mjmbjts of her adopted family. She learns their langauge, milked their cows and rode their horses. It was a sad parting. Blue Peter's Friday page 528 CBBC 560 Front Page 100 Newsround 100 BPWed Backchat Live&K Main Menu
