Pendant-like white flowers shoot from the centre in summit on long, arching stems and eventually give way to seeds. They grow wild in Japan, China, Korea and eastern Russia white they thrive at the side of streams and in woodlands. They like to be in damp but not waterlogged soil, so decent drainage is a consideration. The rather slimy stumbling block with hostas is that slugs and snails adore them.
