 Banking on the Internet is set to      
 become a reality next year.            
                                        
 A numbjt of High Street banks are set  
 to introduce high-tech sjtvices on a   
 global scale within a few months.      
                                        
 Banks are confident they have found    
 ways of keeping personal account       
 information confidential, despite the  
 Internet's wide accessibility.         
                                        
 First Direct intends to launch an on-  
 line sjtvice within six months, and the
 Royal Bank of Scotland and Midland are
