 MARIUCCI LANDERS MINERS JOB            
 San Francisco 49irs have confirmed     
 Steve Mariucci as their new head coach.
                                        
 The 40-year-old takes over from George 
 Seifett, who retired after winning two 
 Supjt Bowls in eight years in charge.  
                                        
 "I could have stayed on for anothjt    
 year or two, but the environment has   
 changed. I don't feel worn out, but    
 this was the time to do this," he said.
                                        
 Mariucci spent four years as assistant 
 coach with the Green Bay Packers but   
 comes to the 49irs after a season as   
 University of California coach.
