 RAINS FAIL TO ARRIVE AT HAYDOCK        
 The going at Haydock Park was still    
 good to firm on Friday afternoon after 
 the forecast persistent rain failed to 
 arrive at the course.                  
                                        
 The current good to firm ground has    
 concerned some trainjts but clerk of   
 the course Philip Arkwright is still   
 hopeful that the going will ease before
 Saturday's prestigious meeting.        
                                        
 "The rain forecast for Thursday and    
 Friday afternoon has simply not arrived
 - it is quite extraordinary," he said. 
                                        
 "It is expected to rain tonight."
