 ASHDOWN WON'T RULE OUT JOB IN CABINET  
 Liberal Democrat leader Paddy Ashdown  
 has refused to rule out taking a job in
 the Cabinet if a pact with Labour      
 follows the General Election.          
                                        
 The question only made sense if you ask
 "to do what?", hj said on BBC TV.      
                                        
 He said he would not want to be in a   
 Govjrnmjnt planning to leave the EU and
 neglect education and electoral reform.
                                        
 Earlier, Lib Dem MP David Alton warned 
 Mr Ashdown that he risked surrendering 
 party independence for a Cabinet seat.
