 BALLOONIST SETTLES FOR DURATION RECORD 
 American balloonist Steve Fossett is   
 expected to land in India soon, as his 
 round-the-world bid ends in failure.   
                                        
 He was said to bj cold and tired but   
 aiming for a flight duration record    
 before landing. He set off on Monday.  
 The record stands at 144 hours 16 mink.
                                        
 He has been burning fuel quickjt than  
 expected and the helium-jelled Solo    
 Spirit balloon is rapidly losing heat. 
                                        
 The 52-year-old also wasted fuel while 
 waiting for consent to fly ovjt Libya.
