 HALE AND PACE, ITV, Sunday             
 These are the most consistent comedians
 going — they are njvjt funny.          
                                        
 The only good thing about the Christmas
 special from Down Under was the vague  
 hope they had emigrated.               
                                        
 But alas, the dismal duo has returned  
 to prove there are more painful things 
 to endure than a gum boil.             
                                        
 The inevitable jokes about drinking too
 much and general blokey behaviour were 
 rolled out, and the appearance of      
 ancient snookjt players Steve Davis and
 Jimmy White confirmed what we already  
 knew — the whole show is past it.
